During our initial intake assessment, I will collect information about you, your current needs, and your relevant history. This session will also help us determine if we’re a good therapeutic fit and if my skills align well with what you’re looking for. The aim of the initial sessions (approximately 3-5) is for us to get to know each other and for me to learn what you hope to gain from our work together. We will create a blueprint that outlines your current situation and identify the areas you'd like to focus on moving forward.

Therapy is a personal investment that demands both time and energy. The treatment is tailored to your needs and can be either short-term or more extended, depending on the depth of the work involved. I encourage open and ongoing conversations about your progress throughout the process.

Regular attendance is important to ensure you see benefits from our work together. Initially, weekly sessions are usually recommended; however, biweekly sessions can also be considered based on your needs/personal goals.

Is therapy "worth it"?

How frequently should I attend?

I might be biased but, yes, therapy is often worth it as it represents a valuable investment in yourself. Research indicates that about 75% of people who enter therapy experience some benefit (American Psychological Association, 2017). However, everyone’s definition of "worth it" varies, depending on individual goals and expectations. Therapy provides a safe space to explore emotions, gain insight, and develop coping strategies, often leading to personal growth, improved relationships, and a greater sense of well-being. Ultimately, the value you find in therapy will depend on your commitment to the process.

Holistic psychotherapy focuses on treating the individual as a whole. Key principles include:

  1. Mind-Body Connection: Recognizing how mental and physical health are intertwined.
  2. Personalized Approach: Tailoring therapy to each person's unique experiences and goals.
  3. Emotional and Spiritual Exploration: Fostering self-awareness through exploration of emotions and beliefs.
  4. Integration of Modalities: Using various therapeutic techniques to address different aspects of experience.
  5. Empowerment and Self-Discovery: Supporting clients in discovering their strengths and resources.
  6. Focus on Relationships: Acknowledging the importance of social connections in well-being.
  7. Self-care: encourages individuals to take responsibility for their own health through lifestyle changes, including better nutrition, exercise, stress management, and mindfulness practices.

This approach aims to facilitate deeper healing and lasting change.

Currently, therapy is offered exclusively via telehealth. This allows me to maintain accessibility and safety while providing support. I hope to offer face-to-face therapy in the near future, and will keep you updated on any changes. In the meantime, I’m committed to providing a valuable and effective experience through our virtual sessions.
